TO BE OR NOT TO BE,THAT IS ETHIC a cura della classe IVN

Over the times the relationship between science and religion is still a current subject that constantly creates debates not only in the culture aspect but also in the political one. The difference between the two is that religion is something you trust in, while science is something you can prove with experiments. The world of science is more materialistic, on the other hand religion is based on faith. With Saint Tommaso D'Aquino, who combines Christian thought to Aristotele's one, we can find in more materialistic thought than a spiritual one.

This century is also considered as the third industrial revolution, because of the development of technologies in the most fields; this situation causes the increase of unemployment. Another important aspect is the deletion of privacy thanks to the troubling use, or abuse of social medias. A problem is that, because of fake news people can not distinguish anymore what is true and what is not, this condition causes problems in the creation of a subjective vision of world.

Enlightment is also called "Age of reason" and "Augustan age", this period is characterized by the difficult relationship between reason and faith. The protagonist of this opposition was Galileo Galilei which introduced the experimental method and he declared that: God, the author of the Holy Script, was the same creator of the nature and science. Enlightment had a common point of view, it was against faith. Kant, a famous philosopher, declared "the coming out of the man from his minority status" (refering to faith) however he was not against Christianity.

The begin of actualization began with Saint Giovanni Paolo II, which in his encyclical Fides et Ratio declared that "faith and reason are two wings by which the spirit flies towards the research of truth" . In fact it is very important to consider that, like Saint Giovanni Paolo II said, faith and

season cannot exclude one other, on the opposite they support each other. Nowadays this struggle between faith and reason is still present through some issues such as: Euthanasia and Staminals. The question now is: just because something is possible can it be moral?

The real struggle nowadays is not between religion and science but it is between what is ethic and what is not. It is important, in my opinion, to the defend the subjective vision about the issues over mentioned and not let affect us from social medias and external fields.
